The purpose of this site is to raise awareness and to solicit contributions, either monetary, in-kind services or gifts to further the research into finding a cure for canine cancers; specifically Malignant Histiocytosis as current research is very close to making a breakthrough in finding the cause of this terrible disease that disproportionately affects Bernese Mountain Dogs and Flat Coated Retrievers and Rottweilers. Additional information regarding this important research is available on the Canine Cancer Information & Resources Tab.
The site is also a tribute to CH Sirius’ Ceaseless Whiteout (Call Name: Casey) who lost her battle with Malignant Histiocytosis on the 29th of November, 2010, just 8 days before what would have been her 7th birthday and just 30 days after being diagnosed with this hideous disease. Hence the choice of the name of this domain:
Casey’s Canine Cancer Challenge. 4CA-CURE.ORG
She was an extraordinary creature that exemplified the gregarious personality of the Flat Coated Retriever, from her self taught ability to hold 3 tennis balls, horizontally in her mouth to her regal beauty and confirmation to the breed standard by being awarded her AKC Championship after only 3 weeks of showing at AKC sanctioned events.
